Welcome to May and the end of another successful year in Montrose! This year included many successful events including numerous karaoke nights well received by all, a sold-out New Years Eve dinner, and free BBQs. Other items we’ve been hard at work on this year included a successfully completed Green Challenge put on by the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, keeping the ice rink open over winter, and the continued preparation for the revamped playground and spray park. All of that sounds great but before we end our year there are a few more events to help us go out in style!
On Wednesday, May 12th Montrose will be hosting an open table forum for all residents, members and non-members, to help brainstorm ideas for where you would like to see the community league go in the coming years. More on this to come so stay tuned to www.montrosecommunity.com for further details.
May 15th and 16th Montrose will be hosting a garage sale for all residents of Montrose. Any resident in Montrose is welcome to set up a table but as always its better to be a member as tables cost $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Contact Scott at 780 756-7987 to book your table and Betty for your membership at 780 479-1442. This promises to be a fun filled event with great deals for all!
And on May 17th Montrose will be hosting our executive elections at our Annual General Meeting. The meeting starts at 7 pm and all members are encouraged to attend to help us elect the next year’s executive. All positions are open for nominations so if you have a craving for community involvement and a strong desire to contribute your little known talents then I’m sure we have a position for you.
